A Look Back at Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Season 1

With season two arriving very soon, it's time to look back and review the previous season.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an animated sci-fi series that serves as both a spin-off and  sequel to Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It's produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation and distributed by Disney Platform Distribution. This season consist of 16 episodes. Star Wars: The Bad Batch is created by Dave Filoni.

The story is after finding out about Order 66 and one of their own turning against them, a clone group known as The Bad Batch along with a female clone named Omega, are now on the run. The group take on mercenary work, while at the same time avoid the new galactic empire.

  • Negatives

I've got nothing to say, so just move on.

  • Mix

The only mix feelings I have about the show is the story. Whenever the Bad Batch go up against soilders of the Empire and one of their own, that part is very much exciting and fun to watch. And while the odd jobs portion is alright, it still gives off the feeling that the Empire storyline is taking a backseat, which in return can kinda makes the overall pacing of the show feel slow.

  • Positives

One positive I'll give the series is the action. Even if one storyline is better than the other, you won't be disappointed when it comes to the action.

Then we have the performances. Especially from Dee Bradley Baker. The guy has to play five different characters along with having to play other clones that show up, and give each and everyone of them their own unique voice. And Dee does that perfectly whether he has to be either serious, comedic, or a mixture of both.

The last thing I'll give The Bad Batch for and it's truly the show's greatest strength, and that's the development between the Bad Batch and Omega. I'm serious. It was actually great seeing them [Bad Batch] connect and train Omega, to the point where by the season finale they become a family.

Overall while I did have a slight issue, there was still plenty to enjoy as well. I'm hoping by season two the story problem I mentioned earlier will be fixed, while at the same time still keeping all of the good elements, and elevate them even more.

My final rating is Good.

So that's all for me. Come back on Thursday, Jan 5th for my list of my most anticipated movies of this year. Until then, enjoy the rest of your day.
