Hey guys sorry I haven't been posting anything on my blog as of late I've sadly been dealing with a death in the family. I'm not telling you guys this to gain sympathy or anything like that I'm just telling you what's been going on in my life. So let's move on from the sad news and talk about one of my favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 coming to theaters in only eleven days let's look back at the first movie. Guardians of the Galaxy is a 2014 superhero film based of the 2008 version of the team with the same name. It's produced by Marvel Studious and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It's also the tenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is directed by James Gunn and written by James Gunn & Nicole Perlmann

The story is a group of criminals are thrown into a situation where they have to work together to stop Ronan the Accuser from taking over the universe.

  • Negatives

One complaint I have with this movie is faking out Groot's(voiced by Vin Diesel) death. One reason I don't like this is they made us have this big emotional moment where this is the end of Groot then at the end of the movie when the Guardians defeated Ronan the Accuser(Lee Pace) they show he's alive. So what was the point of that emotional moment then? The second reason is around this time Marvel was doing that with their films in their second phase a lot they did it with Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier hell their still doing that to this day "cough Captain America: Civil War cough".

  • Mix

I got nothing to put here so let's move on.

  • Positives

One thing I love with this movie is each one of our main characters get an even amount of screen time. None of the main characters lacked or had too much screen time they were each giving time to develop & have their moments to shine.

Another thing to love about this movie is the humor. To me this is probably the funniest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. I'm also kind of surprised with how much both Marvel & Disney let James Gunn get away with in this film. There's one scene where Star-Lord/Peter Quill(Chris Pratt) made a joke about how the inside of his ship is covered with his semen saying if a blacklight would be shined it would like a Jackson Pollock painting. Seriously how did the higher ups at Marvel & Disney let that go into the film?

Now on to the visual effects. The effects of this film are done perfectly there get to look at. The team really put some work into making sure none of these visuals were complete crap.

The film also has great acting in it. Every actor plays their respected character well but I think the person who should get the most credit is Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord. Watching him you can really tell that he loved playing this character and he does play Star-Lord very well.

Now to talk about the one thing this film is mostly know for it's music. It's funny how I now listen to Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede & Come and Get Your Love by Redbone so thanks Guardians of the Galaxy to giving more good music to listen to.

My final positive to give this movie is it didn't feel like it was setting up another MCU film. Not even the post-credit scene is setting up another film. Which is probably why it's my favorite because it's not being dragged down by having to set up another film that we won't see until next year.

Guardians of the Galaxy is in my opinion the best Marvel Cinematic Universe film out of all the MCU films. The main characters are all enjoyable to watch & are giving an even amount of screen time, all the jokes are hilarious & they work, the visual effects are done beautifully, the acting is great, and the music is fun to listen, and I'm glad the film wasn't setting up a film to excited for when we won't see it until next year maybe even two years. My only complaint is that fake out with Groot's fate.

My final rating for this movie is Great
