Justice League: Throne of Atlantis is a 2015 direct - to - video animated superhero film loosely based of The New 52 storyline Throne of Atlantis by Geoff Johns. The movie is third installment to the DC Animated Movie Universe. It's produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment and distributed by Warner Home Video.

The story is Arthur Curry has found out he is to be the King of Atlantis. Then he meets the Justice League and aids them in stopping his brother the Ocean Master from going to war with the surface world.

  • Negatives

One complaint I have with the movie is Aquaman's origin story & the Throne of Atlantis story clash with each other. At one point you go to Aquaman's origin then were in the Throne of Atlantis story and because of this a lot of awesome moments from Throne of Atlantis had to be cut out. Which sucks because I would have loved to seen Aquaman grab Batman by the throat & punch Superman.

Nothing to say here. So let's move on.

  • Positives

This is another DC animated movie that gives us spectacular action scenes. One of my favorite action scenes is when Superman is fighting a giant monster called the Dark Trench. That was cool.

One of the best scenes in my opinion. Is when Aquaman summons a shark to eat Black Manta. I loved that because I wanted him to do something similar to that in Justice League: War but with Parademons. So it's awesome they put that in here.

I also liked how the filmmakers made this feel like a journey for Aquaman. Nothing about it felt rushed. Him going from Arthur Curry to the King of Atlantis had a nice steady pace.

Now if you liked the animation/designs in Justice League: War then you will definitely like the style here as well.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis' biggest problem is it flip flops from being an origin story for Aquaman to being Throne of Atlantis. However it does have great action, I loved that scene where Black Manta gets eaten by a shark, Aquaman's journey to become the King of Atlantis was nicely paced, and I enjoyed the animation.

My final rating for this movie is Okay
