Coco Review

Coco (2017)

Coco is a 3D animated musical fantasy adventure movie. Coco was based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich. The film is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The movie is written by Adrian Molina and Matthew Aldrich and directed by Lee Unkrich.

The story is a 12 year old boy named Miguel sets off a chain of events that leads him to the Land of The Dead. On this adventure Miguel meets long-dead relatives and with all of them together they try to find a way to get him back to the Land of The Living. If they don't Miguel will turn into a skeleton and be stuck there forever.

  • Negatives

My only complaint with Coco is very predictable moments. One moment was one of the characters were falling off of a tall building and I was like "oh no will something stop them from falling!" And surprise surprise something stopped the character from falling.

  • Mix

I've got nothing to say. So let's move on.

  • Positives

Now this probably doesn't come as much as a surprise considering it's a Pixar movie but the film has beautiful animation. One of the best designs I loved from the animation was the Land of The Dead. That place was gorgeous to look at. So many bright colors.

If you're an emotional person you probably shouldn't see Coco. Because this film just pulls on the heart strings. There were so many great moments that it's actually hard to pick which one I loved the most.

This is Pixar's first musical movie and the studio did a wonderful job. One of the songs that will be most remembered is the song "Remember Me". Which isn't just a song but it also has a sweet meaning to it.

Another thing I liked about the movie is our main hero himself Miguel. He's an inspiring musician and throughout the whole movie you want him to win. And while he does have some temper tantrums here and there that's not going to make you hate him.

Coco has stunning animation, well done emotional scenes, a great musical score, and Miguel is a very likeable protagonist. The only thing I think you'll hate is the more predictable moments.

My final rating is Great
