Well folks, here we are, the end of the Bay era of Transformers movies.
Transformers: The Last Knight is a sci-fi action movie based on the Hasbro toyline and the fifth movie in the series. It was produced by Paramount Pictures, Hasbro Studios, di Bonaventura Pictures, Huahua Media, The Weying Galaxy, and The H Collective and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Transformers: The Last Knight was written by Akiva Goldsman, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Ken Nolan and directed by Michael Bay.
The story is it's been five years since the battle in Hong Kong, and transformers good or bad are still being hunted, only difference this time is nobody is using them for scrap. This soon proves not to be the biggest threat when both humans and transformers find out Cybertron is coming to Earth. Now Cade Yeager and his allies must find a staff that can stop this.

For a majority of the movie was the pacing wasn't too bad, it was actually pretty good. However, there was a time, probably somewhere near or during the third act you can start to feel that runtime. Now the story actually isn't bad, it's a pretty cool story, what it needed was more balancing. Cause you've got the search for the staff, Optimus Prime meeting his creator/being brainwashed, and MegaTron and his new band of Decepticons. MegaTron gets the least amount of attention to the point where he and his minions just disappear for the majority. Prime's brainwashing wraps up pretty quick and he was barely evil. The majority of this was the journey. I think what should've happened was, keep the staff search but don't give us every little step by step process, while at the same time, the Decepticons are on their trail, while also showing us Optimus struggling not to be turned evil, and so on and so forth. I think had that happened the story/overall movie might have been better received.
- Positives
One thing to like about the movie is once again the special effects. More so than last time. Cause in the last movie while I still liked them, I still noticed somethings looked off. This time, didn't have an issue.
Another enjoyable thing was the humor. Like always it's not groundbreaking comedy, but still found it to be fun. Especially Cogman, I actually thought he could be pretty hilarious. In a dark kinda way.
What I also thought added to the movie's quality was the mythos. I found that transformers technology being mistaken for magic and even more history of transformers being on Earth to be interesting. Especially the former. Kinda wish we got a spin-off out of that as suppose to what they're doing now.
The last thing I'll write about is the action. While it's not the big grand finale Michael Bay ended on, it was still pretty awesome. And much like before, Bay saves the best for the final battle, it still didn't top the Chicago battle, but it does come in a good second place.
Honestly, I feel as though The Last Knight got way too much hate. Some of the complaints are valid, but from my point of view, it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. But hey, if you just can't get behind this movie, more power to ya.
My final rating is, Okay.
