Road to Avengers: Infinity War - Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a 2015 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics' team The Avengers and the sequel to 2012 The Avengers as well as the eleventh film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Avengers: Age of Ultron is written and directed by Joss Whedon.

The story is Tony Stark's latest invention a peacekeeping program has gotten awry. This program called Ultron plans to wipe out the human race and replace them with machines. The Avengers must reassemble to stop this new threat before all of humanity is destroyed.

  • Negatives

One the worst parts of Age of Ultron is Black Widow's and Hulk's relationship. It out of nowhere and forced. What makes it even worse is there's no chemistry between them. If you watch the previous Avengers film they just acted like teammates not love interest. I have actually agreed with people online when they have said Widow has more common with Captain America than Bruce Banner. And their not wrong either especially if you watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Another bad thing about the movie is Quicksilver's death. The reason why it doesn't work is because we really didn't get to know about him that much. We got his origin and we know he's Scarlet Witch's brother, but other then those the character was not well developed. So since he had such little character his death didn't feel like that much of a big deal.

  • Mix

One element of the film that didn't completely sold me was Ultron. Now he does have a good motivation and does have immediating moments but then they make James Spencer be funny and it doesn't work. I feel as though if the comedy bits were cut out it would have worked more. Like I said good motivate and fearful moments but should have cut out the comedy.

  • Positives

When I reviewed the first Avengers film I mentioned how the CGI was not what people hyped it up to be in Age of Ultron's case it's an improvement. The CG this time around definitely had more work put into it and was more polished than the previous flick.

Another thing to enjoy from this film is once again the action. All of it was awesome, fast paced, and never once did I feel bored. More favorite parts were the opening sequence and the final battle.

One of my biggest compliments is Hawkeye's and Black Widow's development. In previous films we just viewed them as badass secret agents here on the other hand we get a more human element to them other than just spies.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a solid sequel. The CGI is better, the action scenes are cool, and Hawkeye and Black Widow are given more development. Ultron was a good villain for the most part but the other times he's dragged down because Whedon wanted to make him kind of a jokester. My only complaints are Hulk's unnecessary relationship subplot with Black Widow and Quicksilver's death.

My final rating is Okay
