Road to Avengers: Infinity War - The Avengers Review

Well people this is an exciting time. Avengers: Infinity War is only two months away and it only seems right to start a road to that movie. So let's begin with my review of the first movie simple titled The Avengers.


The Avengers (or Marvel's The Avengers) is a 2012 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics' team of the same name. The film was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The Avengers was written by Joss Whedon and Zak Penn and directed by Joss Whedon.


The story is Loki has processing of the Tesseract. With this powerful energy source he can summon an army know as the Chitauri. In order to stop this invasion Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury has assembled a team consisting of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk, and Black Widow. And if they don't work together the world as they know it is doomed.

• Negatives

I've got nothing to say. So let's move on.

• Mix

Now one thing I feel like is a mix bag is the CGI. There are at times where it is done well and definitely had some time put into it. But then there are times when it's very noticeable. Such as some bits when Thor is fighting Hulk or when The Chitauri are fighting The Avengers.

• Positives

One thing I loved about this movie is the action. All of the action scenes get you hyped for the next action scene and then the next one. One my favorite ones is well the final battle in New York.

Now one the biggest concerns everybody had with The Avengers is will they be able to handle this many characters. And they did even to this today it still holds up. All of the characters of evenly fleshed out and given great development.

The other complaint to give this movie is the humor. Now today Marvel seems to be hit and miss with their humor but back in 2012 and today the film's humor is great. All of the more comedic scenes hit their mark there's not one joke that seemed forced or didn't work.

Let's talk about the main villain Loki. Now through time I kind of forgot why people and/or fans think he's the best villain in the MCU but after rewatching this movie I can see why. He was just so diabolical in this film. The part where I think he really shines is he's scene with Black Widow. I won't give it away but wow was that scene intense.

Now to give my opinion on the performances. All of the cast members are great in this film. They all had great moments and they all had great chemistry with one another.

The Avengers is one of the many good films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The action scenes are all spectacular, each character is handled perfectly and are well developed, the humor is spot on, the performances are very strong, and Loki is a great villain. The only thing the film could have worked on more was the CGI.

My final rating is Great
