Awful Moviegoers Rant

Hang up and watch! Movie manners dial wrong number thanks to cell ...

People there's nothing I love more than going to a movie theater. I don't know why I like so much to be honest. Maybe it's the fact that for only a couple of bucks I can buy not only a ticket but a soda and a snack or maybe it's that I'm surrounding by other people who also love to go to the movies. But every once in a while there is someone or a group of people who think that the theater is their house or their friends house where they can just be as loud and as obnoxious as they want! I've actually wanted to do something like this for a while but I didn't have any bad theater experiences yet to really describe how awful some people are at a theater until early 2016 to now. So here they are my rant about bad moviegoers and my awful theater experiences.

February 12, 2016

So me and my friends are really excited because it's the day that Deadpool premieres and it looks like he'll finally get a proper adaption unlike whatever the hell that thing was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. So me and my friends find some seats and around this time everybody in the theater can be loud because the lights haven't dim down, there's no trailers or commercials playing and the movie hasn't started yet. Now my friends and I aren't too loud were talking at a reasonable level but for whatever reason this guy in front of me turns around looks at us all pissed off and says in the most pompous way possible says "Hey can you guys keep it down. We drove three hours to get here". First off screw you guy were not doing anything to ruin your theater experience and second off where did you come from that it took you three hours to drive to Salem, Ohio? Like I said me and my friends are talking with our inside voices, we weren't shouting on the top of our lungs. The next thing I did was very nicely say okay. So yeah that guy annoyed me.

I'm with my Dad and Grandpa and were going to see Suicide Squad. It was part of what we jokingly call our "Guys Night Out". So were enjoying this okay movie and during the beginning of the third act for whatever reason this teenage girl right in front of us takes out her cellphone. My Grandpa smacks the back of her seat and tells her to put it away which she does. This bugged me because movie theaters not just my theater play like three ads telling you to silence your phone and if have to make or take a call or text go to the lobby. And I don't care if were reaching the end of a movie you don't take you phone out because you just gotta know if boyfriend or friend or who have it is liked your tweet or friended you on Facebook. Keep your phone in your pocket until the movie is over.

This is was a very exciting time for me because I'm going to see xXx: Return of Xander Cage which will be the first recently released movie I review for this blog. Now when I get my seat everything is going great everybody is quiet and nobody is causing a problem. But then during the middle of the first act some idiot across from me takes out is phone. This phone incident was especially annoying because before the studio's logos appeared on screen we just got through a message telling us not to play with our phones! Which part of that message didn't he understand? Also I was curious of what was on his phone that he just had to look at during the movie.

Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets had finally arrived at my theater and from what I saw from the trailers it looked pretty good. Before the film started we saw a trailer for Thor: Ragnarok which I'm really looking forward to seeing. Then after it ended a lady shouted "That doesn't look like my type of movie!". Are you kidding me? Once again movie theaters always tell people to be quiet. What part of that do people not understand? Now at this rate your probably thinking I'm just complaining for the sake of complaining but I'm not. A movie theater is like a library you can talk but it has to be at a very very very low tone I think this technique is called whispering. That way your not bothering everybody else. It was also annoying because in the lobby she just got done telling a little girl she was with to be quiet when their in the theater room. Way to practice what you preach there lady.

July 28, 2017

This was the day I saw the most pointless animated movie I've ever saw that movie being The Emoji Movie. This was also the earliest I ever showed up to a screening. The movie didn't start until 1:30pm and I got there at 1:18pm so I had all the time to just relax too bad that wasn't going to be the case. At that screening their was also a family it was a mother with her three daughters. One of the kids was throwing a big tantrum because she didn't want to be there or she throught the movie looked stupid. And as much as I don't like to criticize other people's parenting skills this mother really didn't help all that much. This little girl kept crying and screaming about how she wanted to go home, the movie looks dumb, or she didn't want to be here. The mother would tell her to be quiet or she's grounded and when that didn't work she called there uncle and she would tell her to go to the lobby and wait for him. But when that didn't work she would actually try to bargain with her by saying she would give her a dollar if she went to the lobby and wait. This was so infuriating because if your kid is being bad you don't reward them with money. I can't not tell you how tempted I was to shout at this family to shut up! Luckily I kept my cool and the issue was resolved.

Are Kids Becoming Better Moviegoers?

I now I just got done ranting about an annoying little girl but there have been kids who I swear are better theater guess then the adults.

May 6, 2016

On this day me and my friend Brain got to leave from school early because it was a senior skip day. We decided to celebrate by seeing Captain America: Civil War. When we got their I spotted a father with his kid who was in his Captain America pajamas. I'm always worried because I always feel like a child is going to ruin the movie going experience but to my surprise he was very quiet. The only time I heard him was when he let out a excited giggle during the airport battle. Other than that giggle I forgot he was sitting behind me.

May 20, 2016

So this was the last day of being in high school and I thought it was a good idea to go see The Angry Birds Movie at I think it was 6:00pm or 6:30pm somewhere around that time. When I entered the lobby I saw a little boy jumping up and down and say "I can't wait to see The Angry Birds Movie" and he said this like three times. I kept thinking to myself oh boy this kid is going to be like this throughout the commercials, previews, and the movie itself isn't he?. Then when we entered the theater room he was as quiet as quiet can get. Even when the film was playing the only time I heard a peep out of him was during the comedic moments and that was it. When there wasn't a joke or when a serious moment happened he didn't say or do anything.

These two experiences with this two different kids who always get the stereotype that if their at a movie theater their going to be the bad ones were being better moviegoers than the adults. That is just sad. So people if your going to go to a movie theater shut up, turn off your phone, and be considerate of others will you. Anyhow that was my rant and I hope the rest of 2017 I never get people like this again.
