Avengers: Infinity War Easter Eggs

NOTE: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Well it's that time again when I tell you about the easter eggs I spotted in a comic book movie. This time it's all about Avengers: Infinity War and remember not every single easter egg makes it on the list. This is a list of the ones I noticed. So let's get started.

Image result for avengers we have a hulk

During the opening of the movie, Loki is talking to Thanos about the Space Stone Loki at one point says "We have a Hulk." This line is nod to the time Tony Stark (Iron Man) said the same thing to him in the first Avengers film.

Image result for silver surfer thanos is coming

When the Hulk lands in Doctor Strange's Sanctum Bruce says "Thanos is coming". The scene mirrors the same thing that happened in Infinity Gauntlet #1 only instead of the Hulk it's Silver Surfer.

Stan Lee by Gage Skidmore 3.jpg

Stan Lee yet again makes another great cameo. This time he's Peter Parker's schoolbus driver.

When both Spider-Man and Iron Man are aboard Ebony Maw's ship their thinking of a plan to save Doctor Strange. Spider-Man ask Iron Man "Have you ever watched this old movie called Alien". What he's referring to his the 1979 classic Alien.

While the Guardians of the Galaxy are flying to the distress call made be the Asgardians, we see that Groot is playing the 1981 video game Defender.

Under Captain America's costume if you look closely you can see that it has scales on it. This is a reference to his classic costume which the upper body part was covered in scales.

Image result for black widow yelena belova

In the movie we see that Black Widow now has blonde hair. This could be a nod to Yelena Belova another Marvel character who also used the codename Black Widow.

Image result for flash gordon

When Star-Lord and Iron Man are making plans to get the Infinity Gauntlet off of Thanos' hand, at one point when Iron Man is annoyed with him he calls Star-Lord "Flash Gordon". Flash Gordon being a sci-fiction hero much like Star-Lord.

Related imageImage result for ultimate thor

Thor gets a new weapon called Strombreaker. Strombreaker in the comics is the name of Beta Ray Bill's hammer but it's more axe like shape it a nod to Ultimate Thor's hammer.

Black Panther refers to Bucky has White Wolf. The name White Wolf has been used in the comics but it didn't go to Bucky but Black Panther's brother Hunter.

Image result for marvel thanos snap

At the end of the movie Thanos snaps his fingers and wipes out half of the universe. This is same thing happened in Infinity Gauntlet #1. The reasoning behind them is different thought. In Infinity Gauntlet #1 he did to impress the love of his life Lady Death (Marvel's incarnation of the Grim Reaper/Death). In the movie he does it cause he believes that wiping out half of life will bring balance to the universe.

Image result for captain marvel

During the post-credit scene we see Nick Fury along with Maria Hill. They both disintegrate but before Nick Fury goes he makes a distress call. We then see the screen has a star symbol along with blue and red colors. This is a call to Captain Marvel. Who will be getting her own movie in 2019.

So those were all of the easter eggs I noticed in Avengers: Infinity War. Unfortunately I have some bad news. Due to do me being business with other projects not related to movie reviews such Raiders of The Lost Media, Differences Between, etc. You won't be getting another easter eggs post until December when Aquaman comes out. I'm so sorry about this but hopefully you'll enjoy all of the other upcoming post in the future.

Avengers: Infinity War Review

Avengers: Infinity War is superhero film based on the Marvel Comics' team The Avengers. Avengers: Infinity War is the sequel to 2012's The Avengers and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Avengers: Infinity War is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Anthony & Joe Russo.

The story is Thanos has invaded Earth in search of the Infinity Stones. With these stones he will be able to bend all of reality to his will. The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy must team-up to stop his path of destruction before it ends the entire universe.

Initial Reaction

Now even though I made a list of the three things I was most worried about for this film that still didn't stop me from being excited. Both the trailers were awesome mostly the first one in my opinion and this looked like it could be a darker film than the previous entries in the MCU. Also this has been build up for quite a while now and hopefully Marvel Studios brought it's A-game for this film.

Cons

I've got nothing to say. Let's move on.

Middle Ground

Now Marvel does like to have some humor in all of their films and while some parts are acceptable other times not so much. Like when Spider-Man and Starlord out of nowhere have a small discussion regrading Footloose. What made it so unnecessary was Iron Man was making a plan to get the Infinity Gauntlet off of Thanos. So it felt like an inappropriate time to be funny. But at least it wasn't anything like Thor: Ragnarok where the comedy was in overdrive.

Pros

One thing I really loved about this flick was how shocking it was. Now without giving away any spoilers there are moments that made my jaw drop. This is another Marvel film that gives the audience amazing action scenes. The best action sequences were Iron Man/Spider-Man with the Guardians of the Galaxy fighting Thanos and the final battle. What made those scenes so great were how high stakes are. One of my concerns for Avengers: Infinity War was the trailers we were given weren't going to be honest with us regarding the film's tone but surprisingly that wasn't the case. This isn't another Age of Ultron were we thought the movie was going to be dark because well that's what the trailers told us. This is the MCU's most brutal movie so far. And in all honesty I hope we see more of that. Now to talk about the big bad himself Thanos. Ladies and gentlemen I think Loki has finally been dethroned as the best villain in the MCU. What made him so great was not only can he handle himself against our heroes but his motivation. Basically he wants to bring balance to the universe, now that is something you can agree with but the execution not so much.

Avengers: Infinity War is not only going to make the list of one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe films but also one of the best comic book movies ever made. It has shocking moments nobody would see coming, beautiful action scenes, an awesome and much needed dark tone, and Thanos being Marvel's best villains. The only thing that could have been trimmed or cut out of the film completely was the comedy bits.

My final rating is Great

So guys I can't stress this enough go see Avengers: Infinity War, you will not be disappointed.

My Three Biggest Concerns for Avengers: Infinity War

So Avengers: Infinity War is quite literally around the corner and we're all excited about the film. Now I know I shouldn't be so negative about this film because Marvel has done a good job with there films and you should always always judge a movie by it's final product and not by trailers, posters, or commercials but I wanted to make this list just to get it off my chest. So here it is my top 3 concerns related to Infinity War.

#3. Too Much Humor

Related image

Not counting Black Panther Marvel for some reason is really pushing it with the humor. Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2 had a lot of scenes that got ruined by a joke, Spider-Man: Homecoming's post-credit scene was played up for a laugh but it was just cringe, and Thor: Ragnarok while enjoyable at times did have a lot of moments ruined by jokes. If this kind of stuff happens in Avengers: Infinity War the stakes of that movie won't matter because well if everybody else isn't taking Thanos seriously why should we? Humor in a superhero movie isn't a bad thing but when you do it too much it kind of ruins whatever serious tone your trying to make the audience feel.

#2. A Dishonest Trailer

Related image

Now I want you to do me a favor. I want you to flashback to 2015, remember the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. Remember how dark and serious that was but then you watched and it really wasn't anything like that. A lot of people including myself were really disappointed by that. Then there was all of the Captain America: Civil War trailers and how they had a very serious tone to them but then the film came out and it didn't feel like the gritty political thriller it wanted you to believe it was. Now let's look back at the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer.

Now much like Avengers: Age of Ultron & Captain America: Civil War this trailer has a very serious tone but that's what concerns me. I'm afraid were gonna have another case of Marvel promising us a dark and serious film because that's what the trailers are giving us but then when I see the movie it's just going to be another popcorn flick. I really and I can't stress this enough I really hope this time we get an honest trailer that delivers on it's promise.

#1. Nobody Dies

Image result for avengers age of ultron quicksilver death

Okay maybe I won't have to worry about this one because on March 9 Kevin Feige said if anybody dies in Infinity War the death will be permanent but still a concern for me. Basically Marvel has a track record of supposedly killing off characters only for them to be alive. The only confirmed death so far is Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now I know it seems dark that I want someone to die in this movie but hear me out for one moment. The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy are going up against Thanos. Thanos is one of Marvel's most dangerous and most powerful supervillains and if any of you have read comics you would know Thanos is definitely going to kill someone without hesitation. So if one of the most powerful villains from the comics can't even murder one of the members of both teams want's the point of feeling terrified?

So those were my biggest worries for Avengers: Infinity War I'm really really REALLY hoping none of them come true. But besides my concerns I'm still looking forward to the movie. So look out for my review coming Saturday.

Road to Avengers: Infinity War - Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Image result for avengers age of ultron poster

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a 2015 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics' team The Avengers and the sequel to 2012 The Avengers as well as the eleventh film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Avengers: Age of Ultron is written and directed by Joss Whedon.

The story is Tony Stark's latest invention a peacekeeping program has gotten awry. This program called Ultron plans to wipe out the human race and replace them with machines. The Avengers must reassemble to stop this new threat before all of humanity is destroyed.

  • Negatives

One the worst parts of Age of Ultron is Black Widow's and Hulk's relationship. It out of nowhere and forced. What makes it even worse is there's no chemistry between them. If you watch the previous Avengers film they just acted like teammates not love interest. I have actually agreed with people online when they have said Widow has more common with Captain America than Bruce Banner. And their not wrong either especially if you watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Another bad thing about the movie is Quicksilver's death. The reason why it doesn't work is because we really didn't get to know about him that much. We got his origin and we know he's Scarlet Witch's brother, but other then those the character was not well developed. So since he had such little character his death didn't feel like that much of a big deal.

  • Mix

One element of the film that didn't completely sold me was Ultron. Now he does have a good motivation and does have immediating moments but then they make James Spencer be funny and it doesn't work. I feel as though if the comedy bits were cut out it would have worked more. Like I said good motivate and fearful moments but should have cut out the comedy.

  • Positives

When I reviewed the first Avengers film I mentioned how the CGI was not what people hyped it up to be in Age of Ultron's case it's an improvement. The CG this time around definitely had more work put into it and was more polished than the previous flick.

Another thing to enjoy from this film is once again the action. All of it was awesome, fast paced, and never once did I feel bored. More favorite parts were the opening sequence and the final battle.

One of my biggest compliments is Hawkeye's and Black Widow's development. In previous films we just viewed them as badass secret agents here on the other hand we get a more human element to them other than just spies.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a solid sequel. The CGI is better, the action scenes are cool, and Hawkeye and Black Widow are given more development. Ultron was a good villain for the most part but the other times he's dragged down because Whedon wanted to make him kind of a jokester. My only complaints are Hulk's unnecessary relationship subplot with Black Widow and Quicksilver's death.

My final rating is Okay

Road to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Jurassic Park III Review

Image result for jurassic park 3 poster

Jurassic Park III is a 2001 science-fiction adventure film as well as the third movie in the Jurassic Park film series. It's produced by Amblin Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures. Jurassic Park III was written by Peter Buchman, Alexander Payne, and Jim Taylor and directed by Joe Johnston.

The story is it's been four years since The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the world is well aware of the existence of cloned dinosaurs on the island of Isla Sorna but their prohibited from going anywhere near that place. One day Dr. Alan Grant is visited by a wealthy couple who want a tour around the island. But something about this couple seems off and Grant wants to know what it is. Can Dr. Grant get his answers before him and everybody else are the next meal for the vicious predators?

  • Negatives

The only thing I couldn't stand in this film is Téa Leoni as Amanda Kirby. Her character did absolutely nothing of interest throughout the whole thing. The only thing she does scream and swing her arms. And that part of her character got really old really quick.

  • Mix

The filmmakers should have done a little bit more work on the CGI. Now there are plenty of parts in here where the CGI is quite good but other times not so much. The absolute worst effect was the green screen in the beginning of the film, that was just an eye swore.

  • Positives

One thing I enjoyed in Jurassic Park III is all of the change scenes with the humans and the dinosaurs. They were all very exciting and awesome. Those scenes were definitely the highlights of the movie.

I also give credit to Sam Neill's performance. He played his character (Alan Grant) perfectly. It's like he never lost beat even though at this time it was 8 years after the first Jurassic Park film.

Another quality of the film I enjoyed was how resourceful Eric was. He had quite few ways to survive from the dinosaurs.

I personally don't think Jurassic Park III is the worst film in the franchise but it is the weakest out of the series. The film gives you great chase sequences, Sam Neill performance was perfect, and I love they made Eric resourceful. The CGI definitely needed more work in some areas but other times it's good. The one and only thing I hated was Amanda Kirby.

Rampage Review

Rampage is a science-fiction monster film loosely based on the video game series of the same name. The movie is produced by New Line Cinema, Flynn Picture Company, Rickard Pictures, and Seven Bucks Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Rampage is written by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan J. Condall, and Adam Sztykiel and directed by Brad Peyton.

The story is Primatologist Davis Okoye has a strong bond with George, an intelligent albino gorilla who he has taken care of since birth. One day George gets an infection from a rouge experiment. Just to make matters worse not only is George infected but also a wolf and an crocodile. Can Davis and company find a cure or will the world be destroyed by these giant beast?

Initial Reaction

When I saw the first two trailers I thought to myself "who know it's a movie based on a video game and those always turn out to be terrible but this film could be a fun giant monster movie". And that's basically my thought all the way through out from January to April. It's a video game movie that could suck but maybe it won't suck and it will just be an enjoyable monsters destroying a city flick.

Cons

I've got nothing to say. So let's move on.

Middle Ground

One thing I'm conflicted with is the movie did ditch the whole humans becoming the monsters. Many people brought up that if they keep that element from the game it would have added more dramatic tension. Which is true but the way it was executed in the film wasn't all that bad. It still doesn't change the fact that Chicago is being attacked by monsters. What I'm saying is sure it would have been good to have that element but the film was still entertaining regardless. Another part of the film that was a grey area for me was the CGI. Basically when the animals are in broad daylight the CG looks... weird, like it's slightly finished but still needed more details put into it. But when the colors are more tone down and dark the CGI is good.

Pros

One thing you'll like about the film is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They really brought their charisma for their roles. Also if any of you are Walking Dead fans Jeffrey's character definitely has some bits of Negan in him. Throughout the whole movie I got sort of a B-movie vibe from Rampage. Which isn't at all a bad case for this film. Cause then it kind of has a little bit of a charm to it. The movie has a pretty good sense of humor. Which felt like a good idea on the writers part. Because there really wasn't a reason for this film to take itself so seriously considering the story is basically just an excuse to destroy a city with giant monsters. Now to discuss the one thing that title is all about. And yes there is quite a bit of rampaging through the movie. So many people complained that there wasn't enough, but that's completely false because the film provides a good amount of destruction. Especially in the final act that part of the film was insane.

Rampage to me is the prime definition of a popcorn movie. You're not there expecting to care about the story or character development. You just want to be entertained by giant monsters destroying stuff and you get that. Dwayne and Jeffrey's performances are good, I like how the film had a B-movie feel to it, the humor is well done, and you definitely get that rampage. The only thing that's a little bit iffy is the CGI and eliminating the human part on the monster's transformation.

My final rating is Okay

Underrated Films - Dredd Review

Dredd is a 2012 science-fiction action film based on the 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd. The film was produced by DNA Films, IM Global, and Reliance Entertainment and distributed by Lionsgate and Entertainment Film Distributors. Dredd was written by Alex Garland and directed by Pete Travis.

The story is Dredd is partnered with a rookie named Cassandra Anderson. One day on the job they discover a new drug called Slo-Mo, they soon find out the drug was made by a woman who goes by the name Ma-Ma. Their later trapped in the build that Ma-Ma is hiding and they have to fight not only to get out alive but to arrest the powerful drug lord.

Why It's Underrated

What makes the film underrated is because it unfortunately didn't make it's money back at the box office despite positive reviews. The film had an estimated budget of $30-45 million but only made $41.5 million during it's theatrical run. What also makes the film underrated in my opinion is whenever people talk about the best comic book movies it's usually your typical DC or Marvel movie while this movie gets pushed into the background. Which sucks because Dredd is awesome.

Why It's Worth Watching

One reason to watch this film is it's setting. The city looks amazing and so well designed. Despite the giant mega buildings Mega City One looks very realistic.

Another reason to check this film out is the action. It was just pure insane entertainment. Each of the scenes were paced nicely and greatly edited.

Dredd also has great performances. While Karl Urban's face is covered throughout the whole film, he still does a fantastic job with the character of Judge Dredd. The other performance you'll like is Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson. Not only does she come off like a rookie but her character also gives Dredd a sense of humanity.

What I also loved about the movie was how dark and gritty it is. Originally it was going to have a lot more humor to it but I'm glad the filmmakers/writers turned it down. Because the more darker tone gives the film more of a sense of high stakes.

Now the music could feel like a mixed bag but for me I enjoyed it. My favorite song was Mega City One and Judge, Jury, and Executioner.

Accomplishments

Now while Dredd didn't score big at the box office one thing the filmmakers should be proud of is the film's positive reviews but more importantly than that they should be proud they have a cult following. And because of that cult following the film saw a greater success when it was released on DVD/Blu-Ray.

Dredd is definitely on my list of my favorite comic book films that aren't based on DC or Marvel. The film contains a great setting, brutal action scenes, spectacular performances, a perfectly dark tone, and a fairly good soundtrack.

The Top 4 Reasons Why I Hate Rotten Tomatoes

Guys I'm going to come off very blunt but I hate the film review website known as Rotten Tomatoes. So instead of a long opening let's just get right into it.

Image result for rotten tomatoes rating system

#4. The Confusing Rating System

Before I tell you why I hate this thing let me explain what it is. Basically "The Tomatometer" (by the way that's a stupid name for a rating system) let's both critics and the audience rate a film or TV show from rotten to certified fresh. Now that seems cut and dry doesn't it? Well that was the abridged version but I swear if you ask anybody to give you a more detailed version of The Tomatometer you'll get a different explanation almost everytime. I heard one answer here then I hear another over there. Hell it seems that Rotten Tomatoes themselves don't even know how this works. For example a critic and/or audience member could give a movie a 4.5/5 and Rotten Tomatoes will deem that fresh but then that same critic and/or audience member could do the same thing do a different movie and Rotten Tomatoes will say that it's rotten.

Dark Knight Rises | Rotten Tomatoes | Know Your Meme

#3. Accepting Anything as A Review

If you don't believe me on this here's an example

Yeah that's an actually "review" that Rotten Tomatoes accepted. Sure it may not have been one of their top reviews or something like that but the fact that they allowed that is just astonishing. One review for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice I remember was some woman just saying "Really?" as her review headline. I mean that counts as a review or a review headline now?! And people wonder why other people hate this site.

Image result for rotten tomatoes ghostbusters

#2. Clear and Obvious Bias

Now I will be talking about the DC Extended Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe but only because that was one of their worst moments of being bias. Also this part is going to be pretty long so bare with me here. Let me tell you a story that takes place all the way back in 2016. On March 25, 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released and was trashed by critics. However people noticed that the film wasn't as bad as the critics on Rotten Tomatoes were making it. Then on May 6, 2016 Captain America: Civil War was released and was praised by critics. But people noticed that film was not what "every superhero film should be". I bring these movies up because while they both have flaws some of which are the same ones but Civil War's flaws were ignored. They were definitely not what Rotten Tomatoes wanted you to believe they were. But no despite that, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was given 27%  rotten while Captain America: Civil War was given 91% certified fresh. Even thought like I said before they both had flaws but one film was given more flak than the other. But let's move on from that. Let's go to July 15, 2016 when Ghostbusters (2016) was released. The abridged version is if you hate the movie for any valid reasons your sexist, somehow racist, and above all else you're a huge bigot. But here's the thing about the movie...it's awful. Nothing about it is entertaining but what did Rotten Tomatoes say "no guys it's funny it really is, it's so much better than the 1984 classic" (by the way I call bullshit to who ever said that). "Look we gave it a 74% certified fresh". So yeah Rotten Tomatoes is clearly playing favorites but despite that nobody seems to noticed. In matter of fact you point this out people just think your crazy. Which brings me to my next point.

Image result for brainwashing

#1. The Site has Brainwashed People

Yeah this sounds like a bit of a stretch but hear me out. Have you and your friends ever went to see a movie and your like "Hey we should see this movie. It looks like it could be good." but then your friend says "Okay sure but first let me look at it's Rotten Tomatoes score." Well think of that time but tenfold. Yeah there is a large majority of people out there that rely on Rotten Tomatoes to see a movie instead of forming their own opinion. Now don't get me wrong I would be flattered if people wanted to read my opinion on a movie before seeing it but I wouldn't want you and your friends/family members to take my opinion as a fact on a movie's quality. This way of relying on Rotten Tomatoes has actually hurt Hollywood. Last year Baywatch and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales didn't do as well as they should have because people would have much rather listen to a rotten fruit then see the movie for themselves. Now your probably saying "well maybe they should try making better movies." Sure but take a step back and think. Your the one that goes to a website on a movies' quality when you can think for yourself.

Anyways that's going to do it for me. Look out for my next countdown list My Top 5 Problems with Today's Film Critics and The Film Fandom. That list will come out on July 30th.

I almost forgot. You guys should really watch this video by iamthatboy titled "Is ROTTEN TOMATOES Killing Cinema?" It's actually a pretty good video about how flawed the website is. Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op5UBP0ueKc

A Quiet Place Review

A Quiet Place is a horror film produced by Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes and distributed by Paramount Pictures. A Quiet Place is written by John Krasinski, Bryan Woods, and Scott Beck and directed by John Krasinski.

The story is a family must survive from mysterious creatures of unknown origin. In order to live to see another day from these monsters you can't make a sound. Will they survive or are they going to make a sound and be devoured?

Initial Reaction

Now I'm going to be honest I wasn't at all excited about this film. Mainly because from what I've seen from the TV spots it looked very generic. But since I prefer to judge a movie on it's final product I thought I should see it and hope that the commercials weren't what they appeared to be.

Cons

One complaint I have with the movie is...jumped scares. I could not stand them. The film even used the clichèd "oh it wasn't the monster that made the noise it was something like a cat or another small animal." When that happened I just shook my head in disappointment.

Middle Ground

I've got nothing to say. So let's move on.

Pros

John Krasinski has directed movies before this one. Now I haven't seen his previous two films but after watching A Quiet Place I want to watch his other flicks. He's quite a good director. He kept the camera steady, he got great shots, and overall he has good direction. One thing to also praise the film on is it doesn't focus on the creatures a large majority of the time but instead the family. We get a good sense of each of their characters and their dynamic with each other. I also liked how the movie doesn't start off with how the monsters started their destruction. Seriously the film tells us the family/other people as well have been trying to survive these things for 89+ days. This gives the movie a great mystery about how all of this happened or when it happened. The performance for the movie are great. Everyone did a spectacular job in this especially since they had so little dialogue to give. A Quiet Place is very much an intense thriller. What really helps the film with it's atmosphere is the lack of sound. I'm not overreacting when I say the film made me feel uneasy.

A Quiet Place is as of right now the best thriller movie I've seen. Krasinski is a good director, I really cared for the family, starting off the movie with the monster's aftermath was a good choice, the acting was amazing, and the film does provide some scary moments. My only complaint is the clichéd jump scares.

My final rating is Great

So if you haven't seen this film yet I strongly recommend you should.
