Spider-Man: Homecoming is a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics' character Spider-Man. The movie is the second reboot to the Spider-Man film franchise as well as the sixteen movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures. The movie is written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley and directed by Jon Watts.
The story is it's been two months after the events of Captain America: Civil War and Peter Parker is trying to prove himself to Tony Stark that he has what it takes to be an Avenger. He feels the only way to do this is by stopping a villain known as The Vulture.
- Negatives
One character that I couldn't stand was Michelle played by Zendaya. She was weird and kind of snarky. I even hated the little easter egg they gave her. I won't give it away but they gave her a very familiar initial that you've heard before in Spider-Man comics. Overall I didn't like Michelle and I really felt the movie could do without her.
There's one thing to this movie that felt outdated and that was using the song Hey Ho, Let's Go by The Ramones. Yes it's a good song but how many movies have used that same song in their montages or end credits.
One thing that kept bugging throughout the whole movie was did the writers get rid of Spider-Man's spider sense? If they didn't then the filmmakers did a horrible job representing it and if they did then that's a terrible idea. The spider sense is one of Spider-Man's essential superpowers you don't get rid of that.
The last negative thing I'll say about this movie is the post - credit scene is awful. It's bad because it was a very self - aware moment. It wasn't a good choice mainly for the superhero they chose to do it with. The best way to describe is it felt like something Deadpool would have done not this character.

- Positives
Now I was worried this movie was going to have too much Tony Stark in it because that's what the marketing was doing. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Tony had in my opinion a good amount of screen time. There wasn't too little of him and there wasn't so much that it felt like it was Iron Man 4.
The action scenes in the movie are pretty good. They definitely won't beat Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy or Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man films but I still enjoyed them for what they are.
I liked the humor in this movie. Almost every joked worked expect the ones with Michelle. Two of my favorites are that I couldn't lose another student on a school trip joke & the last scene with Aunt May. Those two got a big laugh in the theater.
Every actor did a good job with their roles but Tom Holland & Michael Keaton were the ones that did an amazing job. Tom Holland is great as Spider-Man and his best moment is when he's pinned down underneath some rubble and he is just freaking out. That was done perfectly. Michael Keaton was great as The Vulture you understood why he was doing the things he does, the character had a nice twist to him, and Keaton's best moment was when he was in a car with Peter and he's threatening him to stay out of his way.
The last good thing to say about the movie is I really liked Peter Parker's determination to prove he can be an Avenger. He was doing anything he could whether it was big or small to show Tony that he can be on The Avengers. I definitely got invested on that part of the story.
Spider-Man: Homecoming's problems are Michelle's character, using an outdated song, a possibility that the spider sense is gone, and a really bad post - credit scene that's not worth waiting for. It's best aspects are a limited amount of Tony Stark, some good action scenes, hilarious moments, Tom Holland and Michael Keaton's performances, and Peter's drive to be part of The Avengers.
My final rating for this movie is Good
