Disclaimer: I could be wrong on some details. So take this with a grain of salt.
Hey everybody and welcome to Raiders of the Lost Media. Let me explain what this segment is before I get into today's topic. Originally this was Lost Films but after my Agent Crush post I wanted to expand on this whether the product was lost, partially lost or found. I still wanted to talk about lost films but I also wanted to tell people about TV shows, video games, and comics books. Then Lost Films was changed to Raiders of the Lost Media. Now with that out of the way let's talk about a lost video game.
Part One - What Was Cartoon Network: Backlot Party?
Cartoon Network: Backlot Party was going to be a crossover party video game for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS. It would've been developed by Game Machine Studios and published by Little Orbit.
Part Two - Shows That Would Have Appeared
Part Three - The Game's Content
The game was going to include five different minigames like Dodgeball and a basketball game called Shoot to Win. The game also had more ambiguous titles like Backyard Chase, Girl Trouble, and Muriel's in Peril. Sources also said that were two additional games called Sneak-a-Catch and Go Jump-Ed.
Part Four - Announcement & Cancellation
On March 26, 2014 Little Orbit made an announcement that they were releasing two new Cartoon Network video games. One of them were based on Adventure Time which was then released as Adventure Time: Finn & Jake Investigations and another one based on multiple franchises. The latter was later announced as Cartoon Network: Backlot Party then in the same press release they said the game would be released in October of 2015. Despite the press release saying it would come out in fall no new information official or unofficial was released past this point. This lead many people to believe that the game was cancelled.
I hoped you enjoyed reading this. I know I had a lot of fun making it and I look forward to making another Raiders of the Lost Media. I haven't decided what it will be but I'll tell you when I update the schedule to the State of the Project.
